Hey LOSERS.  Watching the last Vegas auction.  All the trucks are selling tonight.  They are steals for under $40,000.    Hahahahahaha. The announcers are saying you can't build them for that.  I can.  A lot of people out there with more money than brains

Without seeing what was rollin' threw at the time I'd have to say a lot is selling for less than build price. Keeping in mind that beauty is in the eye of the beholder of course.

Let’s say a dude has $100.000 invested in a Hot Pink Dodge Viper powered “Billet Rod” built 10yrs ago. It's done the show car pro tour and won all sorts of prizes but now he wants to tour his newly pro built $150.000 "Rat Rod". The "Billet Rod" served its purpose but it's dated now and gots to go. So the dude sells at no reserve and it goes well below build price because the automotive flavor of choice has changed and only one guy in the crowd at the auction has a wife on-site whose nails match the car. The commentators are now seeing this as a plus and will use this to build up the auction, the bids and the viewers by letting everybody know you can’t build’em for what they’re selling for.

Of course I agree we can build'em for less but that's cause chances are we bought cheap and we tend to use what we have at our disposal besides what do 4 bald tires and rattle can a o’ tremclad go for?

2 cents so don't read to much into it, I'm just a little bored today

Just a thought, in my mind BJ has only helped the more well to do, take car collecting and rodding out of the hands of the average '' shmuck.'' Restoring cars and rods has never been cheap but every BJ wanna-be in the land thinks they're stuff is worth way more than it is. Don't get me wrong, I love looking at 100k show rods but if there is no dirt on the chassis forget about it!!! Just because some dude owns a killer 1-800-BUY-RODD doesn't make him cool. One positive that always shines through at every auction is the help charities recieve via BJ. Thats tough to beat. Oh ya, if I had to sell my rat for less than the build price, I'd have to give it away, hahahaha

Just watched a reproduction 67 Mustang Fastback cross the block for 1/4 million. No Henry parts on the build. Now thats a classic case of more money than brains. I realize it's his money to spend ,but really, reeeeeeeally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe this guys mom dropped him on his head a couple of times. Actually I would love to own that car so I could part it out to build a real car!
