I love that Rambler, but it's a bad time to even bring up buying cars around here. The $425 worth of tickets I got on friday, and the $200 spent on sat to get everything fixed back up, have put the wife in a stronger anti-project-car mood than usual :(.
I kinda dig that Monte too. I can envision that cruising the highway with deflated bags on all 4 corners :).

Nope...even stupider, and my own fault :( Expired plate sticker...and expired license. I had NO idea it was done, but the sticker was a day away from being replaced. I was polite with the cop, and he didn't treat me like a hardened criminal. I was on the 417 outside of Ottawa, and couldn't reach anyone to come pick me up, so he was going to bring me to the Timmies at Walkley to wait for a ride. He would not let me drive, which I guess is the law, so I can't get mad at any of this since it's my own fault :(.
In the end I got ahold of a buddy who happened to have the day off (friday) and he brought me home. I called my pops and we all (me, wife, dad) went to get my car, since the cop also said he'd let me leave it on the roadside if I came for it later.
That's the sad story of where my $625 went this weekend, and I got to stay home while it traveled, lol.
I called my dad to post my bail. He said son your going to drive me to drinkin if you dont stop driving with out a license. Not really how the song goes thats why we keep pushing. You need a hot rod.
Sold my lawn mower today, so I'm a LOT closer to next year's goal of having something LOSEResque :). I'm debating selling my Colt, but it's not done yet, and nobody likes buying a half-finished project.
It's reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally tempting...especially since I could hide it for a while, lol. My old man has a utility trailer that would haul it well too, since it's not as heavy as a full vehicle.
A dead ringer (sorta, the color is different) for the first car I ever test drove when I was going to buy my first car. The universe is toying with me...
LOL... the universe wants you to have a project! That's neat its the same as the car you test drove way back when.... great personal connection there! How bout an early birthday present???
Don't let him fool ya though. F85's aren't that rare. I have appraised two in the last year right in sault ste marie. Also there are no deluxe f85's. If I am not mistaken, the f85 was a plain jane and not worthy of cutlass status........hope that makes ya Feel better Chad.
Well, maybe I'll try to find one in March :).
I've seen a few online over the past few months, but most are two doors. This is one instance where I'd dig a moredoor, just for the sentimentality of it all. My dad wouldn't co-sign the loan if I bought it, so I had to find something else, lol. I was straight out of college and had no money.

I haven't seen one in a looooooooooooooooooooooong time, and NEVER in canada. This one is supposedly pretty rough, but it's in a friend's junkyard in Kaladar. I'm going up there to do some welding on the floors of his 76 Datsun...and maybe picking up a long-term project...

Just a quick question for the group: It's a junkyard car, so there's no ownership (although possibly available, most junkyards can get them it seems). Anybody forsee anything difficult about getting one the regular way? I've got no problems paying for the whole notary deal, and the seller is a good friend of mine, so he'll sign anything I ask him to.
I'm thinking it's going to be verrrrrrrrrrrrrrry rough, he said that the windows are probably down, lol. It's a good thing I don't care much for 'factory original' ;).
I hadn't...I try to stay away right now, lol.
That is an insanely rare car, from what I've seen on the net. They were originally done on Renault chassis' with Renault engines, but the beetle pan is a good fit it seems.
That would be a pretty sweet project.
