Lol, you guys are trying to get me divorced.

I love that Rambler, but it's a bad time to even bring up buying cars around here. The $425 worth of tickets I got on friday, and the $200 spent on sat to get everything fixed back up, have put the wife in a stronger anti-project-car mood than usual :(.

I kinda dig that Monte too. I can envision that cruising the highway with deflated bags on all 4 corners :).

Nope...even stupider, and my own fault :(
Expired plate sticker...and expired license. I had NO idea it was done, but the sticker was a day away from being replaced. I was polite with the cop, and he didn't treat me like a hardened criminal. I was on the 417 outside of Ottawa, and couldn't reach anyone to come pick me up, so he was going to bring me to the Timmies at Walkley to wait for a ride. He would not let me drive, which I guess is the law, so I can't get mad at any of this since it's my own fault :(.

In the end I got ahold of a buddy who happened to have the day off (friday) and he brought me home. I called my pops and we all (me, wife, dad) went to get my car, since the cop also said he'd let me leave it on the roadside if I came for it later.

That's the sad story of where my $625 went this weekend, and I got to stay home while it traveled, lol.

Sold my lawn mower today, so I'm a LOT closer to next year's goal of having something LOSEResque :). I'm debating selling my Colt, but it's not done yet, and nobody likes buying a half-finished project.

It's reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally tempting...especially since I could hide it for a while, lol. My old man has a utility trailer that would haul it well too, since it's not as heavy as a full vehicle.

Dammit, I hate kijiji, lol.

Thanks Gary. It sucked, but it was a life lesson I guess, haha.
Always be polite, and always check your license for an expiry date ;).

A dead ringer (sorta, the color is different) for the first car I ever test drove when I was going to buy my first car. The universe is toying with me...

Don't let him fool ya though. F85's aren't that rare. I have appraised two in the last year right in sault ste marie. Also there are no deluxe f85's. If I am not mistaken, the f85 was a plain jane and not worthy of cutlass status........hope that makes ya Feel better Chad.

Well, maybe I'll try to find one in March :).
I've seen a few online over the past few months, but most are two doors. This is one instance where I'd dig a moredoor, just for the sentimentality of it all. My dad wouldn't co-sign the loan if I bought it, so I had to find something else, lol. I was straight out of college and had no money.

I'm going to see a VERY strange car on sat...
While not immediately LOSER appropriate, it's certainly an unloved lost beast ;).

1980 Dodge Challenger ;).

I haven't seen one in a looooooooooooooooooooooong time, and NEVER in canada. This one is supposedly pretty rough, but it's in a friend's junkyard in Kaladar. I'm going up there to do some welding on the floors of his 76 Datsun...and maybe picking up a long-term project...

"Unloved" "Very Strange" "Beast"
You got me curious, let us know I promise I won't make fun. Then again if it's a Yugo I probably will make fun.

I have actually looked for a Yugo, lol.

My mom has a place in Florida, and Craigslist Orlando is a mean, mean website.

Just did an appraisal on a 2013 challenger. They look a little different now. You definitely won't see a 1980 in the parkin lot unless it's yours.

Just a quick question for the group: It's a junkyard car, so there's no ownership (although possibly available, most junkyards can get them it seems). Anybody forsee anything difficult about getting one the regular way? I've got no problems paying for the whole notary deal, and the seller is a good friend of mine, so he'll sign anything I ask him to.

I'm thinking it's going to be verrrrrrrrrrrrrrry rough, he said that the windows are probably down, lol. It's a good thing I don't care much for 'factory original' ;).

If you do the notary deal or swear the info with a justice of the peace for free...it shouldn't be difficult.

I hadn't...I try to stay away right now, lol.
That is an insanely rare car, from what I've seen on the net. They were originally done on Renault chassis' with Renault engines, but the beetle pan is a good fit it seems.
That would be a pretty sweet project.
