Not sure what it's going to be yet I think I've got a couple ownerships and trim\grills for either

Anyway my Dad aka Grump came over this weekend for a bit of father son car time. I told him I was going to bring my 57 SD home before the snow flies but before I do I need to make room. So we dragged out the cab that's been sittin' in my garage untouched for a few years and started finishing up the welds so I could spray it then stuff it in the back yard. Well wouldn't you know that's all it took to get the juices flowing again on the truck. (of course seein' them bad ass LOSER rides in Syracuse may have helped a little)

Not sure how far I'll get with it and there is 0 time frame but here's what was started about 6 years ago with help from Grump (Ken) and Tinworks (Bill)

Sweet Rottnkid!! That's too cool to keep hidden away....

Funny they had the same influence on me... after I had the pleasure of meeting them and seeing their rides I too had to get in on the fun... I'm not sure when I'll get mine together but I can certainly relate to getting that spark to build something lol

Love it man... keep us posted!!

Didn't know about the xplorer swap good to know but I'll probably keep the original frame (got two frames but low on cash) Found an ownership and vin last night so it's going to be a 50 Mercury. I figure I'm going to go full fendered with a Y block and a more traditional look as opposed to full out rat but you never know.

I'm big on team work and ideas so if anybody wants to throw out there 2 cents I'm all eyes and ears.

Well then a '50 Merc it is!! I like your thoughts... hell there's a million ways you can build it, it comes down to what you like! Mine will be full out rat (but that's just because I love the look and it fits my budget)... whatever you do with it will be cool in my books!

Love the hammered roof, thought about doing that to mine when we built it but something said, not this one! Go figure! Of coarse you know I'm '' diggin'' the full fendered look. Y block,eh, cool. Wound't that be slick with a three duece set-up. Thinking that would be real '' bitchen '' with suicide doors, you'd be the only kid on your block with one of those. You gonna use the stock I-beam front axle, may be stick it on top of the springs? Keep the build pics coming.

Thanks guys keep the ideas rollin' I got a lot more time than I do cash.

Suicide doors eh, that would be interesting to say the least. They will definitely be shaved and I want to save the quarter windows.

I'd like a dropped axle but for now I'm just going to plug away at what I got.

It's gonna be a multi carb setup for sure. I'll post pics of what I got and have access to later.

I've got a couple of Holley 94's if ya need 'em. Only one has been overhauled, the others need cleaning/gaskets.  Some chromey air bells too.

Thanks Chad, PM me what you'd like in return or future considerations. I've got a bunch already but I'm always looking for more. Once I get intake pics up you'll see why.

I'd be all over that 3x2, so cool.
Checked my good 94...it's a 4 bolt base instead of three. Looks to be a later Holley 2100, so won't fit any of what you've got :(.

Thanks for the input guys. I'll decide once the body is done then dress the engine accordingly but I am kinda leanin' towards 3x2's myself and keepin' the log manifold for the 57 SD

Most of the welds are now complete

50 Cab.JPG

I had a few Y blocks already 272's and 292's but when I decide the Monarch had to go away the 312 was pulled and will be the heart.

My garage isn't big enough and I really want to get the mechanical done on the Linc over the winter so the cabs got to get gone till spring.

Thanks guys

The garage is an organized mess. I'll try to work some pics into the Lincoln thread of some of the stuff hanging off the walls and ceiling.
