Here's my new project. '32 Ford B sedan. Bought this one owner car from a local auction last summer. Bidding was spirited to say the least. Car was destroyed in a garage fire in 1959, dragged into a drive shed and left to perish. Rescued by my wife after I stopped bidding. Ford purists will be upset but going to Ratt it. Car has a pretty cool life story, but that's later!
Good question Rottnkid... who's gonna get to drive it :)
This is going to be an awesome project! I can't wait to see more... after seeing first hand Scruff's talent and work he did on his Merc, this thing will be wild!
Good question guys, the answer is..........................................if she wants it, it's hers. The 46 Merc was suppose to be hers but before the build was finished we stumbled across a 70 Ford Torino coupe that she fell in love with. Nice clean 6cyl car so she picked it up and we dressed it as a GT. A sheep in wolfs clothing so to speak. Shelley is a ratt rodder at heart so the 32 will be built with the plan of her driving it so the controls and adjustable seat will be placed with that in mind. Of coarse it will fit me also!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have some tear down pictures and build start pics coming but commputer needs to be updated so will post as I can. Looking forward to this one, hoping to keep the finished product under 48'' high, with only a 3''-4'' chop.

Started the 32, finally. Put together an I- beam and tube jig. Took a page from Adams book and built a wood mock up, what a great visual aid. Used 2x3 rectangle and milled the ends for good fit. Plated inside each joint and plugged welded them to avoid visible fish plates. Will tig the seams later. Did a 10'' 14 degree sweep on the front and a 19'' 70 degree ''Z'' on the rear to allow for dropping the frame on the pavement. Just have to fab up the x-members and move forward with body mock up. Apologize in advance to all you LOSERS if this post is messed up, I'm a computer dumb-ass!!
Hey Scruff... there's no issues with your post you did good!
Thanks for the update on your project, you're making some real progress! The wood frame is a good way to really get an idea of layout and dimensions... I really like your idea to plate the inside of joints and plug weld!! Geez cool frame jig, can I use it to build my frame when you're done with it? We could work out a 'tool rental' program lol... Anyway great job so far man... I can't wait to see more, and I really can't wait to see it in person!!
Right on Scruff! I'm looking forward to seeing more... believe me everyone, I've seen Scruffs work first hand - this is going to be a killer ride!!!
When we get situated in the new digs, and perhaps into the spring/summer I can get back into my project again... thanks for the offer on the frame jig man!
Messed up, no captions. Took chassis off of jig this morning and could not wait to mock up the body and front axle. Sitting at a 4'' ride height. Will sit and look at it for a couple of days to be sure of front axle placement,. Front x-member not installed yet for that reason. Go figure, my math actually worked out, car is low enough that I'll have the option of raising it up a bit or running larger diameter front tires. Better to low than not low enough. Will throw the engine on the rails to decide x-member install height with the spring pack fully assembled. Kind of a red neck way of doing it but not much engineering in my back ground.

Awesome man!!! Looking great... mock up is so much fun, you get to see your project come to life and play with placement locations to get it just how you want! I also like your "Better too low than not low enough" comment lol...
Got the 32 rolling finally. Sitting on a jack at the back, no bags yet. Went with a homemade parallel 4 link with stock car style pan hard set up. The 250 Ford inline and C4 trans are mounted. Not a power house but will be different than the others. Hope to go with tri-carb once everything else is done. Just ordered a pair of wide white pie crust cheaters for the rear and will most likely go with skinnies and wires on the front. Like the 46 I'm having second thoughts about hammering the roof, maybe will finish it as is and run it for awhile then I'll cross that bridge. Would be one of a few none chopped 32s! Different???? Can't get much more done as my house is sold and new one won't be ready until fall, then have to heat and insulate the shop. Life seems to get in the way of car building. Thats it for now, will continue later. Hope every one is enjoying the beautiful weather.
AWESOME! Great job man... you've come a long way with it, that thing is friggin' KOOL! And the full roof looks good too, I think either way you do it will be killer... like you said you could just finish it as is and then maybe down the road chop it or change some things...
And pie crust cheaters to boot!!! YES! She's gonna be a head turner... can't wait to see it in person
PS - Check your email in regards to the bike you wanted, I've sent you a message :)
