1) If I wanted to bring a 22 year old car back from NJ, will a bill of sale and a title get me across without issue?
2) Anyone want to help me bring a 22 year old car back from NJ?
There's a free 1991 Eagle Summit sedan (yeah yeah...but all my turbo Colt stuff fits in it, and is an awesome sleeper. Last one I built ran 14.1@100mph on 155/80 13s) waiting for me in NJ, all I have to do is go pick it up. I'm torn between the knowledge that it's a supremely stupid idea, and a supremely wicked idea at the same time. To me anyway ;).
I built the car below in 2004-ish, and it was hilarious to drive. 218whp/219tq in a shell that NOBODY ever figured was going to show them taillights at the track, lol. If you can't tell, my buddies and I like to put strange engines in strange cars, and I'd love to build another Summit (we called that one the Scummit, due to the rust).
Shouldn't have a problem bringing it back. It's more than 15 years old, so no RIV fee. Gst at the border, PST at the mto. Just fax the title to us customs 48 hrs before you export it. Piece of cake.
Cool, good info!
The deal has changed a bit, so I don't think I'll be going. Dude at first said "free to good home", and now he's saying "oh, wait, there's $500 worth of parts on it that you should pay for first". Yeah, not really interested in a 7 hour drive for a shell that doesn't roll because the seller took the suspension and brakes.
I'm really not having much success at this car thing, I should take up bird watching or something, lol.
lol, that sentence could make no sense.
I'm bringing my Colt for emissions/safety on sat, so I'll at least have SOMETHING to drive that's not a 97 Ford Aspire. The hunt for cool will begin anew in the spring, might even hit up spring Barrie for ideas.
