Short story long/adventures in trading

so awhile back i sold my little Mitsu for a decent profit. Then got the bright idea that my wife would just love another mini Van, she drives an 08 Charger currently that i just love driving in the winter, traction control off and rwd is always good.

I found a 2003 Montana, couple young lads from BC bought it to drive across the country, finished their trip and left it here with a Buddy to sell. I looked at it, never seen salt, looks brand new. Bought it saftied and e-tested for 1600 bucks. Made it halfway home and the trans is slipping suddenly, bad. I asked the lads before purchase about that very thing as they are known for it. Was told its mint, never had an issue. So, its 10pm on a friday and ijust bougt it it needs a trans. Im not impressed. Call the lad and let him know, its coming back, right now. He says its late, no stress, we can deal with it in tje morn. The lad that actually ownes it lives in BC, so i email him as well. Off to bed i go. The next morn i email BC lad again tolet him kow im headimg back to his buddies to drop it off and walk away. He says to go f myself and i must have broken it. I try some convincing and get nowhere. I explain to him nicely that he is makimg a very poor choice and thatwhile he may be 5000km away, the guy i actually paid lives real close. I then have a very convincing comversation with the lad that lives here, amd he decides its in his best intrest to aleviate my stress. He offers me $600 back, or i can return it and walk away.

i take the $600, i then trade a reallly fancy Mitsu tramsmission i have at home (warr claim scrap, diag wrong and nothing wrong with it) so i trade the $18000 paper weight transmission with sonshine for a low mileage used unit and them pay to have B&N install.

Fast forward 2 weeks, wife hates the Van, and wants her dodge back....sooooooo, given how little i want to drive a minivan daily im trading it (of course)

2 Owners, last being an old couple that drove it to florida every winter up until one died lastyear. Their kids (older then me) dont have a use for it, its been for sale awhile now with no luck, so they agreed to trading it saftied and e-tested for my van.

1993 Lincoln Town Car, Jack Nicklaus edition, 183000 easy Km.

My son says lovingly that im going to look like a washed up pimp with the Lincoln as a summer car and the Sedan Deville in the summer....im ok with it

You're a freak dude, love the story. Thanks for sharing. I probably have aluminum wheels that would fit the Linc if you're lookin' to mount winters on it.

I'm the service manager at Mitsu man lol, what were you looking for? I have another $18000 SST transmission sitting there, needs megatronics (valve body) but still worth stupid money, I always have goofy sht kicking around.
Oh and I'm picking this up tomorrow as well, will need stuff for it I'm sure.

Eeeeeeeeenteresting....Hmmmmm. Old VW and new Mitsubishi are my two car things, I'll have to dig a bit and see what I can come up with, lol.

The susp in the back of that GM looks beefy as ufck. Definitely a nice setup.

yah, no managment or front bags yet, so its static at that height, the front crossmember is a little less the 2" off pavement. He drove it all summer like that and my 56 Olds wasnt much higher. It should be pretty cool, not even sure what i will do with it just yet lol. Cant keep both that and the caddy, so one will have to go come spring.
