So i picked up this little beater truck last night, not a bad deal, runs nice. stock 4.3/auto. Came with a valid e-test and spare fenders and one door. (needed) rear is on air but just at a preset level, no managemnt or tank etc. very nicely done notch and custom rear frame. Front is on dropped spindles and cut lowering springs. It hasnt been aligned since lowering and its got a ton of negative camber and is toed in lots. It actually drives down the highway nice considering. The front crossmember is just about 1.5 inches off mother earth so there is zero chance its going on a drive up alignment rack. So my options are, eyeball and level and add shims to get camber back then tape measure toe settimg, or find a shop that has a drive on inground rack and pay. I relisted it on Kijiji but for the $1300 ihave in it i may keep it and give it to my kid as a daily/toy to screw around with.
Anyone know of a good/cheap short box for sale? My box is a little rough as well.
Just my opinion man, I guess it's the chicken sh*t in me talking. Low is kool but if you don't get the bags working that's scary. Gas tank is damn near on the ground. I'd be getting it back up a bit and then worry about getting them front wheels straight. Or move the gas tank into the bed.
Gas tank does look a touch low lol, the pic is worse then reality, but your not wrong. I would likely make a skid plate if it stays with the static drop. Getting front bags in it and a management system will make it much more practical andthats the plan.
The pic is really deceiving, keep in mind most curbes are about 6" and you got no bumper. My old exhaust tips sat higher than your tank and I curbed them before I got use to it. I'm not sure when I turned into my old man, feel free to ignore me.
So for anyone keeping track, I seperated from the wife, had to sell the truck, 4 months later someone special bought it back as an early bday present.
Sold my DD, used the money to buy lowering springs, dropped spindles, and replace every worn part in the front end. Installed white walls, bullet lug nuts, the mandatory stickers, front lower valance.
Removed all the inner fenders that we're doing there best effort at locking up the front tires over every little dip in the road. Made brackets to hold the abs pump, fuse box and ecu as they acruly mount to the now missing Inners. So now my toy is my DD till the winter.
Gets great gas mileage with the little 4.3 and OD trans, had ice cold AC and it looks damn cool if I do say so myself.
