Why do you want to be in a club?

Myself I was raised in the back seat of my Dad’s 67 Mustang convertible. On the weekends we would go to shows or the drags. My dad use to race the Mustang up at Luskville. He’s a long time Ford guy and was a mechanic for several years in the 70’s at an Ottawa dealership.

Now I don’t know how it came about but he later joined an Ottawa Valley car club. I got to tell ya I grew up around the best bunch of gearheads and it was awesome. In the beginning it was pretty tight nit like a family going to shows as a group was great and hangin’ out with likeminded folks was awesome. Then it started to change, politics took precedence and it was done, another car club bites the dust. (This is the way I remember it, I was a kid if I’m wrong I’m wrong)

Anyway I’m too old for politics; I just don’t care enough to argue with anybody. I wanna have fun I’d like to shoot the sh*t and maybe get together for a cold one from time to time. I wanna  be part of something and I really don’t care what ya call it.

I want to be in a club that's all about fun, and the only thing you need to bring with you is a love of old cars and trucks! No one is better than anyone else, no egos, no politics... just a common respect for people that are in the hobby because they love it. Doesn't matter what you drive everyone's welcome... I just want to meet people who appreciate vintage tin and don't pass judgement onto other peoples pride and joy! When you strip it down, it doesn't matter what brand you like, or car or truck etc. at the core we are all the same! We love old vehicles!! That being said, when Pete described the premiss behind this club, I thought it was a perfect fit!

In the future (when there are more than 4 members lol) I'd like to see a LOSERSCC meet-up of some kind... just a chance to meet others and enjoy the hobby! All for FUN!

I just like cars more than I like most of the (new age old car guys). if you are here you should have read the links on ontariorodder under THE LOSERS c.c. official thread as they will show the history and reason we started this mess. Not required reading but informative.

I like cars, and the folks that like them, usually, lol. Hanging out with like-minded folk is fun, especially since I didn't grow up in a car family, or even get into cars until 23. Making up for lost time I guess :).

Its all about driving them! That's the fun part... I never understood the garage queen thinking... spend tons of money on a vehicle, but store it away so no one can see it?? And don't even think about driving it, might get a stone chip!!?? I personally don't get it.... that's why I'm a LOSER! To each their own I guess...

Just love old cars, trucks, stuff. Love old engines, hit and miss motors, what have ya. Hate the politics of theses other so called clubs with their experts. Put one of my rides together over 6 years by myself. Bought the thing in boxes. Turned out to be a really nice car. Saved and fixed stuff as I had the dough. Obviously still stuff to fix but I will get there one day. Took it out last week. Drove around for about two hrs. Had a ball. Even got a thumbs up. Made it all worth it. Then stopped where some car club guys parked. Grabbed a coffee and thought I might just chat........but u guessed it....as I was slowly walking to my car......I heard one guy ripping it apart. He didn't like the exhaust. One of the things I didn't fix yet......don't have the dough. Well I hopped into the car while the negative comments continued.....the guys didn't even see me.....and burned outta there............

Wasn't interested in a club until I discovered the LOSERSCC. Too many serious ''clubbers'' out there. Never saw the need to justify why my stuff is built the way it is. Speaking as an outsider, by choice, it seems with some clubs you are automatically put into a pre-determined catagory according to what you have or don't have. Many people have lost sight of whats really important. Went to one show this summer and after parking the truck was asked to move, guess we didn't make the grade, funny, some other rodders got the same treatment, we ended up parked near each other and had a great time. Don't care what you drive, there is room in rodding for all.Thats what I like about the LOSERS, something for everybody, shiny, rusty, 2 door, 4 door, hi, low, go, no go!!!!!!!! The bottom line is real rodders are always cool. Politics and rods, pass! Since my wife and I drive a ''Toon'' we can't help but smile! We're LOSERS! Guess that was more of a rant than why I want to belong to a club. Club, no club, hot rods forever.
