My new FARGO project

Hey guys,

I just acquired a new Rat Rod project... I've been looking around for a while as I wanted to build a Rat Rod truck, either get a complete truck or buy a cab and box seperate and piece one together. Well I found a complete truck last week... its a '57 Fargo 1 ton dually. Its all there, all glass is good, solid and cool patina! It also has a 10ft box! Some may think its UGLY... but it's different and something you don't see everyday! I'll be picking it up next week!! Still gotta come up with a plan, but basically it will remain 'as is' with new suspension and driveline, and it will be LOW!!

I'll post more pics when I get it, but here's a sneak preview...

Way cool. I built a 10ft box for my truck this summer. What's better than an 8 ft box. Well a 10 ft box of course. Cool project.

Hey Adam, throw some wiskey barrels in that thing, and it'll look like a fugitive from the Ozarks, very cool. Wide whites????????? Looking forward to cruisin with ya when it's done. Not selling the Ford I hope. You definitley found something different. Just trying to figure out what to do with mine this winter, gotta step up the game a bit. More motor for sure. Am in need of a reasonably priced two carb intake for the 5.0, if you know of one let me know. Rat on man

Thanks guys..... but I have bad news. Well I WAS excited about getting this truck... seller agreed to a purchase price, and arranged a date that I could pick it up. It seemed everything was a go... but my lesson learned is never 'assume' its final. I contacted the guy today to confirm the date for getting it and he said - "Oh I sold it to someone else who looked before and paid more than your offer"

Isn't that nice.... very disappointing! I was really looking forward to making this truck into something wild.... so until the deal is actually made, its never FINAL.

Unfortunately a handshake or a verbal deal means nothing these days which in my opinion is one of the things I'll miss most.

Don't you feel like driving round to the Guys place and just grabbing him warmly by the throat?

Sounds about right these days no honor in ones word any more if $ is involved. If I ever hear any of the guys on here do some thing like this I would hard pressed not to delete their membership. I strongly believe in one's word is connected to ones soul. Sell your word sell your soul. Honor amongst LOSERS.

I totally agree with everyone's post! If $ is involved it seems honoring your word goes right out the window.... nobody cares anymore, its sad really. If I agree to the terms of a sale (as the seller) then that's it! Its SOLD!!..... its not put back on the market to see if anyone will pay more! I'm just glad I didn't make the 3 hour drive to pick it up, only to discover he sold it to someone else!!!

Honor you word - it's the only way to do business! If not... they say what goes around comes around!

Ahhh, the LOSERS still have honor. We know what it is like to have honor.

Just about two weeks ago, I had some wheels and tires for sale. The fella showed up at my house and said he wanted the wheels but couldn't afford them, till he sold his other car. He wanted to give me a crisp $100 bill to hold the wheels, but being one with honor...I told him, lets just shake on it and you keep your money. See you in a few weeks. Its been 4 weeks. Haven't heard anything from him. Sent him a text....nothin. Guess I will try calling him one last time.......hmmmmmm.
