Hey guys, taking the cab off this old lady this weekend, i need peoples opinions, paint or dont paint it? modern suspension or keep stock with lower leafs springs?
If its mine, absoluty don't paint it. Yes modernish suspension because I drive my stuff far, and virtually daily. And makes it much simpler to fix, no eBay or hunting for parts....plus of course the safety factor. It has to look exactly as it is now, with maybe a couple inches of altitude adjustment.....and that would be it.
Very cool truck btw lol

Cool truck man! I will echo the other comments... don't paint it (I'm a fan of patina)... leave it as is - lowered with new parts, do it safe and you got a winner... eeerrr a LOSER... you know what I mean... Keep us in the loop with progress
We've already talked and everything the guys have said sounds freakishly familiar. Make it safe and drive the wheels of it man!!
This year maybe you like the patina, next year maybe you'll want shiny paint only time will tell but the beauty part is it's yours, you can do whatever the hell you want with it.

Bitchen truck! All the advice sounds good to me. I would NOT paint that, maybe some washed out lettering, a logo & drop it . I would seriously consider an updated master cyl and brake system. Modern under pinnings is the best way to go, easier to buy parts at the jobber than turning over rocks to find old junk. Mine rides on new Explorer stuff. Gets driven regularly and hard.
