So I'm at the gas station putting $20 in my 55' Dodge Crusader when this guy pops up behind me and starts talking to me about my car:

-is that a Dodge? Lemme guess,1956?

nope 1955.

-I bought one of these brand new back in the day...boy was this car ever a lemon. Don't see many around eh...nobody kept them they were such lemons

well, for a lemon, this car is 59yrs old, pretty good lemon if you ask me!

-yeah, well this one must have been fixed allot!

ok then, bye...have a nice day!

 

 

I just had to shake my head and laugh as I drove away...who does that...insult a guys car while he's just standing there getting gas?!? Betcha he never bought a Dodge again "back in the day"

lol great story indeed... I agree - who does that? but then again you are a LOSER so it kinda goes with the territory lol.... its a cool car no matter what anyone says!

Thanks guys...I'm having a hoot driving it around already this season, and doing the odd tune-up/repair. New plugs and cables, backseat cover, wipers, etc.

Next on the list is making some interior door panels, and more importantly figuring out what the deal is with the big puddle of coolant I left behind me at work today...

Its not a lemon, it's a hobby!

Great idea!

I even had my LOSERS plate frame on as well...hopefully he noticed it. Haha

On that note, at work today while the Dodge was volunteering as the shop-class guinniee pig; I work in a High School tech class with kids who have bahavioural difficulties (I.e. Just like Welcome Back Kotter - Sweathogs) One of my students noticed my LOSERSCC plate frame (which is starting to get a nice classy rust colour) and he commented quickly "LOSERSCC?!? Well, you'll need a new one of those!"...I could only think of the Kung-Fu TV Series moment ... When you snatch the pebble from my hand.... Only then can you too have a rusty plate frame for your classic car.

Thanks for the Hot Rod magazines LOSER! My students started going through them as soon as I got back to work. The other shop teacher even grabbed a few for his class to read.

Stopped by the Metro to buy some food. When I came out I noticed a Smart Car parked right beside me...so ridiculous looking beside each other...I think I could fit the entire Smart under my hood!

The picture is to funny. Then and now. I prefer then. Smart car guy thinks he is doing his part for the enviro but unknowingly creating visual pollution. Like to see a blown small block in one of those. Would look like an old Zinger model car kit.
